Winner of the Erich Vietheer Memorial Award at Glyndebourne, Marie Elliott studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and on the Opera Couese at the Royal Academy of Music, where she was awarded her Dip / RAM. Her prizes further include the Lucille Greagan Prize, the Winifred Disney Prize, the Isabel Jay Prize for Opera, the Colin Murray Scholarship and the Isabella Lucas Prize for Contralto Singing.

At Glyndebourne, she has covered Cornelia and Cesare Giulio Cesare, Eduige Rodelinda and Irene Rodelinda. Her other engagements have included Genevieve Pelléas et Mélisande for Independent Opera at Sadler's Wells, Bradamante Alcina for English Touring Opera, Disinganno Il Trionfo del Tempo e Disinganno for the Classical Opera Company and Transition Opera, Lola Cavalleria Rusticana at the St Endellion Festival, Angelina La cenerentola for Stanley Hall Opera, Olga Eugene Onegin for English Touring Opera and opera by definition and Oronte La fida Ninfa for La Serenissima in Venice and London.

Marie Elliott sings regularly in concert, her repertoire incuding J. S. Bach B Minor Mass, Christmas Oratorio and St Matthew Passion, Beethoven Missa Solemnis and Symphony No. 9, Brahms Alto Rhapsody, Duruflé Requiem, Elgar The Apostles, The Dream of Gerontius and Sea Pictures, Messiah, Haydn Nelson Mass and Stabat Mater, Mahler Das Klagende Lied, Mendelssohn Elijah, Mozart Requiem, Pergolesi Stabat Mater and Rossini Petite Messe Solennelle. Conductors with whom she has worked include Harry Christophers, Edward Gardner, David Hill, Neil Jenkins, Vladimir Jurowski, Brian Kay, John Lubbock and Sir David Willcocks.
