Richard Rowntree: Richard Rowntree studied voice, viola and piano at Trinity College of Music, London. On leaving college, Richard became a tenor Vicar Choral at Wells Cathedral, a post he held from 1999 - 2007. In 2007 he joined the choir of the London Oratory and he combines this with a flourishing freelance and singing teaching career.
Richard is greatly in demand as a soloist and consort singer and regularly appears with some of the country's leading groups including The Monteverdi Choir, The Gabrieli Consort, The King's Consort, The Early Opera Company, The London Handel Festival, The Cambridge Singers and The Philharmonia Voices.
Future engagements include tours with the Gabrieli Consort, Monteverdi Choir and Le Concert d'Astrée to Poland, France, Spain, and Italy, as well as concerts throughout the UK. As a soloist Richard will be performing extensively including Handel Acis and Galatea, Mozart Requiem and Handel Messiah at St Martin in the Fields, Buxtehude Jesu Membra Nostri and Carissimi Jephtha in The Cadogan Hall, London and St Mary's Warwick, and Handel Messiah in Armagh, Northern Ireland.
